This is Wichita’s premier venue for contemporary works by established and emerging artists of national and international significance. The museum holds a permanent collection of more than 6,300 works by such artists as Childe Hassam, Robert Motherwell, Jacob Lawrence, Andy Warhol, Joan Mitchell, W. Eugene Smith, Gordon Parks, Kara Walker, Zhang Huan, and Dana Schutz.
A lively schedule of provocative and challenging exhibitions is complemented by an important collection of 20th- and 21st-century paintings, sculpture, and works on paper. The Ulrich Museum of Art is also well known for its outdoor sculpture collection, a group seventy-six, 20th-century monumental works installed across the 330-acre campus, rated one of the top collections of its kind by Public Art Review..
