to the 22nd Air Refueling Wing flying the KC-135 Tanker and the National Guard
184th Bomb Group.

The primary mission of McConnell Air
Force Base is the delivery of global reach to this nations's defense through
airlift and air refueling wherever needed. The annual Open House in May or June
features tours of places normally off-limits and the precision flying teams of

Plum Hutchinson, Kansas With more than 10,000 space artifacts, it is
one of the country's premier space museums outside of the Smithonian. It
features an Omnimax Theater with a 44-foot wrap-around dome screen.
Lake Afton Public
Observatory. 20 miles southwest of downtown Wichita on
MacArthur Road at 247th. St. W in Lake Afton County Park. The
observatory's 16-inch telescope offers views of Saturn's rings, the Moon's
craters, clouds of gas, and distant galaxies. Experiment with light, make your
own telescope, play astronomy computer games, and much more.

live bands, a hip silent auction and our Paws and Play area just for pets and
kids. With your help, the Kansas Humane Society will care for over 16,000

Orpheum
Theatre The Orpheum Theatre in Wichita, Kansas, represents one of
the finest remaining examples of the movie palace school of architecture which
existed during the first part of the 1900's. A grand old building in the
tradition of vaudeville and early cinema. In 1982, the Orpheum was designated a
National Landmark and placed on the National Register of Historic Places. It is
now owned by the Orpheum Performing Arts Centre, Ltd. a non profit corporation,
which is in the process of restoring this important part of our cultural and
