I lived there for over 30 years. It was a nice city to raise kids in, back in the 60's and 70's; but it changed. The 'leaders' cant decide if they want to be a real city or just a big town. There are about 5 weeks during the year that its 'comfortable' to walk. Other than that its 10 degress or lower, 99 or higher and the damned wind ALL THE TIME!

I hear you completely. It's definitely not a "city" in that you can't walk anywhere. It's basically like a much smaller version of Houston (Houston is a lot uglier though).

i used to live in wichita and ok it is a nice city, but it is kinda boring, don't you think? and i hated the fact that there are never any people on the sidewalks. nobody walks there! it makes the city seem totally deserted. but overall it is a nice city, clean, safe, but boring!
