Also one of the difficulties is that the piano can get out of tune very easily.

They could not do anything about it when the sound would bounce off and come back through the pipes. I know there was an official post regarding it on the old message boards but I am not sure there is one on RD. The thing is it is still the same sound, the recorded it live (in a booth or something) and just put it into the midi handler. They are also still playing it so nothing is lost.

i thought thats what sound checks were for... heh. well it all could be a good theory, but id just like to believe thats the sound of it.

I don't have proof myself, but I remember reading somewhere they had to make it all MIDI (though they are still playing it) as each venue is so different when they rigged the mics they would often get feedback/echos. In the theatrical shows it is the same venue each night.

do you got proof to back that up? ive been to a the tour and theatrical, and the look and sound pretty much the same. it wouldnt be hard to make a tubulum transportable. its all in a huge metal frame.

As much as it kills me to say this, the amazing piano (piano smasher) is MIDI. The tube tubes and tubulum are MIDI as well. The ones they use during their theatrical shows are acoustic though.

I saw this in Philadephia. I was awesome for my first Blue Men concert. I must see them again sometime.
