Anyone can submit a site whether it is a personal
home page or a major corporation. To be featured in The Cyberguide to Wichita,
the web site must truly stand above the rest in one or more of the below
criteria.
The review criteria include the following five distinct
areas.
Content:
Just how broad, deep, and
amazingly thorough is the information? Does the site present a unique aspect of
Wichita? Are there good links? Is it accurate? Complete? Up-to-date? Is the
page updated regularly?
Presentation:
Are the pages beautiful?
Colorful with smooth and balanced backgrounds? Color balance and contrast? Does
it use video, audio, and original top quality graphics? Does it break new
ground?
A good site design will always include top quality graphics.
Load times are important, to be sure, but the standard for a Cyberguide to
Wichita Featured Site is a little more lenient in this regard. Nonetheless, the
quality of the graphics should warrant the extra time spent waiting to load the
page.
Design:
Easy to use? Does it lead
visitors through the information nicely? Graphic layout and text integration?
Programming:
Proper use of HTML, JAVA,
CSS, or other code? Unique, advanced features and approaches? Do the pages work
equally well with both Netscape and Microsoft Explorer?
Experience:
Is the site fun? Is it
worth the time? Will we recommend it to friends? Does the site have
personality? Does it draw you deeper than one or two pages? Would you like to
meet the person behind the site?
NOTE: Featured Sites are chosen solely on the
judgment of the Cyberguide to Wichita Kansas and the Cyberguide to Wichita
Kansas reserves the right to refuse to review pages based on objectionable
content or any other reason.
Sites selected to be Featured Sites will be
highlighted on the opening page of the Cyberguide to
Wichita for a period of time as well as being listed on the
Featured Site Awards Page.
