Exploration
Place is a $62 million 98,500 sq. ft. science center designed by
internationally renowned architect Moshe Safdie. This premier destination for
enrichment and entertainment for all ages features a children's museum and park
that will promote learning and fun in a state-of-the-art environment where
imaginations can soar. Explore four exhibit areas including flight; health
and human life; people, places and environments of Kansas; and imaginative
spaces for children. Encounter state-of-the-art shows in the CyberDome Theater
and in the Simulation Center. Open year-round 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Tuesday -
Sunday with extended weekend, holiday and summer hours. Open Mondays from

Cowtown Museum
History
comes to life!
Historic
17 acre open air living history museum with 35 exhibit areas depicting life in
Wichita and Sedgwick County during the period 1865 to 1880. There are historic
buildings complete with period furnishings, art objects, clothing, industrial
machinery, craft tools, and farm equipment. There is also a living collection
of livestock including longhorn cattle, horses, and Dominique chickens.

started in 1971 with the Children's Farms area has grown to be the No. 1
outdoor family attraction in Kansas.
Navigate along a twisting path, more than a quarter-mile deep into
the wilds of Australia and South America. Discover the magnificent cassowary, a
giant bird weighing in at 130-pounds and standing up to 5-feet tall. Feeling
adventurous? A fifty-foot suspension bridge will take you out of the village
atmosphere of Nganda Island and will immerse you in The Downing Gorilla Forest
reserve. Watch the gorillas as they forage on the hillside, lounge in the shade
and wrestle together. Discover 2,500 animals of nearly 500 different
species all up close and personal. This nationally renowned Zoo has the 17th
